PoldPold is an independent online bookshop and ongoing project based in Copenhagen founded by me, Emilie Pold. It grew out of my love for books particularly those revolving around art, photography and film. It’s an interest that goes back to high school and has followed me ever since, developing further through photography courses at Kunsthøjskolen in Holbæk and Fatamorgana. And furthermore through my involvement with the Copenhagen based gallery C.C.C where I occasionally helped out in the gallery and represented it at the annual CHART Art Fair.
Everything at PoldPold is selected by me and inevitably reflects my own taste and curiosities. The selection moves, as mentioned, between art, photography and visual culture, bringing together second-hand books, exhibition catalogues and whatever else I come across that I feel deserves a place here. I have never been particularly interested in being cohesive, for me PoldPold is much more about following my interests, making connections and collecting things worth looking at twice.
Beyond the webshop, PoldPold lives and evolves through events, collaborations and a Substack, where I write about my interests and whatever occupies my mind.
